Chapter 01

Page 3

The concept of Odd Even LED groupping solves the problem of "Dark Circles"

The LED_00 forms CIRCLE_00
The LED_01 forms CIRCLE_01
The LED_02 forms CIRCLE_02
The LED_03 forms CIRCLE_03

The LED_14 forms CIRCLE_14

Circle no and LED number
The red lines in the above figure shows the loci of each LED, when the propeller is rotated with respect to its center. In other words, the red circles shows the area covered by each LED when propeller is rotated. The next figure further clarifies the concept. In the same way 15 concentric circles are made.
All Circles
Each LED is responsible for a circle
All Circles
There are no gaps between the LEDs now, hence no dark circles.
For Example:
The Magenta circle is formed by rotation of LED_11 (Odd LED) and
the White circle is formed by LED_13 (Odd LED)
The gap between both the LED's is filled exactly, by the Yellow circle formed by rotation of LED_12 (Even LED)

Now, there is no space for the "un-lit" or the dark area.
Imagine that three LEDs 11, 12, 13 are all lit in RED color. Then a solid RED band can be formed. This was not possible with the simple numbering system due to the gap between the opaque round windows of the consecutive LEDs. If simple numbering system used there would be 3 separate RED rings, instead of a solid RED band.
