STEP: Assembling the rotatory transformer


  1. Fan-rotor (secondary coil of rotatory transformer), Primary coil (stator coil) and fan-armature are now ready for re-assembly.

  2. The fan-rotor is placed back on the fan-armature

  3. The stator coil is placed outside the rotor.

  4. The bobbin of the stator coil is trimmed to adjust its height. Its important to note that : The overlapping area of the primary coil and the secondary coil (of the rotatory transformer) must be maximum. This will produce maximum e.m.f. in the secondary coil. So, care must be taken while deciding, how much trimming is required.

  5. In the test-setup shown below the scale is used instead of propeller. It is checked for free movement.
